Genesis 2:3
King James Version
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it:
because that in it he had rested from all his work
which God created and made.
We are not machines.
We need a day of rest.
A respite from a wearying world.
A world that demands much from us.
A world not necessarily designed to serve CHRIST.
But more to oil the gears of men's personal ambitions.
Wherein the poor could so easily be forgotten.
Where needs of families could so easily be set aside.
That's why it's not a restful, just, and sincere world.
With a digital society, all the more people cannot rest.
You are being watched, night and day.
You are being studied, and profiled, for the buttons you push, the goods and services you purchase, the thoughts you put out.
Your face, your fingerprint, your voice have been captured by your captors.
There is no more privacy, as you well know.
Freedom has become scarce.
If non-existent.
That's why you need SPIRIT more than ever.
You need His calm, grace, truth, and clarity.
You need sacred time with GOD.
You need the purity of Scripture.
You need peace from JESUS.
All these, a born again draws from.
It's the only way we can get through life, without losing our soul.
Let these verses guide you to the rest you need:
Exodus 20:8-11
King James Version
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God:
in it thou shalt not do any work,
thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter,
thy manservant, nor thy maidservant,
nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day:
wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Leviticus 23:3

3 Six days shall work be done:
but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest,
an holy convocation;
ye shall do no work therein:
it is the sabbath of the Lord

as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee.

14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God:
in it thou shalt not do any work,
thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter,
nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant,
nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle,

that thy manservant and thy maidservant
may rest as well as thou.

he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life: and I will dwell
in the house of the Lord for ever.
Psalm 34:17-19
King James Version

but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.

thy right hand upholdeth me.

and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 53:4-5
King James Version
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows:
yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.
Jeremiah 6:16
King James Version
16 Thus saith the Lord,
Stand ye in the ways, and see,
and ask for the old paths,

2 In my Father's house are many mansions:

I will come again, and receive you unto myself;
that where I am, there ye may be also.

My grace is sufficient for thee:

in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions,
in distresses for Christ's sake:
for when I am weak, then am I strong.

which bare twelve manner of fruits,
and yielded her fruit every month:
and the leaves of the tree
were for the healing of the nations.
